September 2026 Performance Review (-20.75pts)

Month at a glance

September 2026 ended in drawdown for the Fortis portfolio, finishing -20.75 points across all four systems to BSP.

Systems 1 and 4 finished the month in profit at +7.63 points and +0.92 points respectively, while Systems 2 and 3 returned -9.06 points and -20.24 points.

The month was particularly volatile. The portfolio had reached +49.50 points on 23 September before a difficult final week reversed that position.

The result moved the overall 2026 portfolio from -50.69 points at the end of August to -71.44 points at the end of September.

See below for a detailed breakdown of each system’s monthly results to BSP.

System 1 finished September in profit despite giving back a significant amount of its position late in the month. The system reached +27.83 points on 11 September and remained comfortably profitable through much of the month. Several higher-priced winners then reduced that position, including Rebel Wave at BSP 10.00, Girl Scout at BSP 10.00 and Luck Between Us at BSP 13.00. The system briefly fell into negative territory towards the end of September before recovering over the final few days to finish +7.63 points.

System 2 experienced a volatile September. After falling to -17.23 points during the opening week, the system recovered strongly and reached +17.83 points by 22 September. That recovery was then reversed during the final part of the month, with losses including Girl Scout at BSP 10.00, Leading Times at BSP 7.08 and Datstheholyallofit at BSP 6.80. System 2 ultimately finished September -9.06 points.

System 3 produced the largest loss of the month. The system had recovered from an early drawdown to reach +19.10 points on 23 September, but a difficult final week completely reversed that position. Losses during the closing stages included Girl Scout at BSP 10.00, Gore Point at BSP 7.00 and, on the final day of the month, Arch Enemy at BSP 12.50. System 3 finished September -20.24 points.

System 4 (max odds of 5.0) BSP results

System 4 effectively finished September around break-even. The system spent much of the month in drawdown and reached approximately -11.96 points on 14 September. A gradual recovery followed during the second half of the month, with System 4 eventually moving back into positive territory on the final day to finish +0.92 points. As always, the maximum BSP of 5.0 limited the size of individual losses compared with the higher-odds systems.

Key Takeaways

September was a particularly good illustration of how quickly a lay portfolio can move in either direction.

The portfolio stood at +49.50 points on 23 September, but four difficult days from 24–27 September produced a combined loss of -78.24 points.

One notable example came on 25 September when Girl Scout at BSP 10.00 qualified for Systems 1, 2 and 3, producing a combined -27 points across the official portfolio.

Despite the difficult finish, Systems 1 and 4 both ended September in positive territory.

The overall 2026 position now stands at -71.44 points, compared with -50.69 points at the end of August.

As throughout the year, the official system parameters have not been retrospectively altered in response to performance.

Looking Ahead to October

September was frustrating, particularly given how strongly the portfolio had been positioned with just one week remaining. However, the approach heading into October remains unchanged. The official Fortis systems will continue under their existing published maximum BSP limits, and every qualifying selection will continue to be recorded using the same methodology. Any alternative odds ranges or portfolio structures being researched will remain separate from the official results. The aim remains to assess the systems over meaningful long-term samples rather than react to individual winning or losing periods.

Portfolio Performance

At the end of September, the 2026 portfolio stands at -71.44 points.

System 1 remains positive for the year at +15.85 points, while System 2 stands at -31.66 points, System 3 at -37.52 points and System 4 at -18.11 points.

Across the first nine months of 2026, the four systems have produced 6,283 selections, with all results recorded to BSP using the published maximum odds for each system.

As always, every result remains available for download via CSV.

Final Thoughts

September was a frustrating month.

For the portfolio to move from +49.50 points to -20.75 points in the final week demonstrates the volatility that can exist within lay trading, particularly where higher-priced selections are involved.

It would have been easy to publish a very different-looking update on 23 September. That is precisely why results should not be judged or presented selectively.

The full month finished -20.75 points, the 2026 position is -71.44 points, and those figures form part of the same public record as every profitable period.

Nothing is removed when it performs badly and nothing is retrospectively rewritten.
